Signs, Symbols and Themes in Thrillers

Psychological Elements: One common theme in many thriller films is the emphasis on the psychological aspect of the genre; this could be represented by introspective scenes in which characters are explored deeper and in a more in-depth manner. For example, their possessions, clothing, mannerisms and speech might be focused upon to make them seem more pronounced and prominent, and to give the audience a better, clearer understanding of the characters as a whole. From this, it's sometimes possible to work out their intentions, though thrillers may often attempt to mislead the audience by doing so.
