Character Types - The Villain

There are usually one villain in a thriller film that is introduced as an antagonist . This character can be very evil and always seem to be causing trouble and involved in crime  . This character type could seem genuine, innocent but deep within there is a monster inside . This character type is usually negative towards other characters and trying to hurt anyone that gets in their way of achieving their goals .  The villain is normally seeking revenge or trying to steal some money etc  . However we do get some sympathetic villain for example In the Film 'Panic Room' there are 3 villains who break in some one's house to get hold of a large amount of money that is hidden somewhere in the house . One of the villain doesn't want to hurt the people in the house , he just wants to get the money and get out . Here is scene from 'Panic Room' where one of the villain is trying to help the girl by giving her the injecting her with her medicine .
